IN MEMORY OF
The founder of Gloucester Goes Retro was Colin Organ, who sadly passed away in 2022.

Colin was born, and lived all his life in Gloucester. He was always passionate about the city, and was a Councillor for the parish of Tuffley, a Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure, and was also Mayor for Gloucester in 2020.
Colin had a love for Gloucester, its history, and the local businesses that resided in it. With his passion for classic cars, in 2015, he had the idea to have a festival, making the most of our historical gate streets, by dividing them up into various eras, with vintage & classic cars, motorbikes and buses & more. This was combined with a stage, live music, singing, dancing and people dressing up in period costumes - All set in the City Centre, Kings square, and our lovely Docks and Quays areas - creating a fun day for all ages… and so ‘Gloucester Goes Retro’ was born.
The teams at Gloucester City Council, sponsors & volunteers work extremely hard each year, as it continues to grow, and has gone on to win three ‘Best Gloucester Festival’ awards, that we are all very proud of.
On a personal note - I would like to thank everyone who comes to the festival and continues to support it each year - it means a lot to myself and my family, that Colins hard work & enthusiasm for the festival will never be forgotten.
Thank you for taking the time to read about Colin & the festivals origins.

Kevin Organ
